Beware compatibility issues!
I bought this flash to go with my Sony Alpha 55 camera, but when it arrived, I could not get it to work. It turns out that the Sony Alpha 55 series cameras will only work with firmware version 7 of this flash, and the one I was sent had version 6. The firmware is not user upgrade-able, and requires that you return the unit to the manufacturer, so I sent it back for a refund. Reading other reviews, this is a perfectly good flash if it is compatible with your camera. If you are thinking of buying, ask the vendor to check the firmware version first. You do this by pressing the power and test buttons simultaneously. I ordered a Metz 52AF1 instead - more expensive, but it worked perfectly straight out of the box.
