Cute, functional, good price
Does keep coffee or tea hot if you prepare properly (prime with hot water)All glass inside, so no transfer of flavors, no plastic or metal taste and no aluminum or BPA in my drinkAppealing designFor the amount of liquid it actually holds, it takes up a lot of space.I thought that it splatters when it pours - other reviewers don't say this so maybe I got a bad one Howver I fixed this - the cap has to start just so to line up properly and screw down tight and if it is not all the way in is spatters - if it is done right, it pours nice. -I originally had a 3 star, but I am liking this better and better. It also opens up so that you can clean the inside (little screw on the bottom and then unscrew the bottom compartment.I have knocked it around a bit, and it is pretty sturdy. I don't recommend that you knock it off the counter onto tile floors, but if you do it is surpisingly robust

beautiful carafe
German quality is evident throughout....purchased a blue one years ago---delighted to find they had not changed such a successful combination of elegance and functionality. These are timeless designs that bring artistic beauty to any kitchen counter, picnic table or even a formal counter. We use these all the time and having different colors turns out to be useful for all kinds of distinguishing needs---tea vs coffee, caf/decaf, morning vs afternoon brew, etc.,easy to clean, durable, keep beverages at brewed temp for hours, very stable, safe around children because the pour/close button is very reliable with the exact correct amount of effort and excursion. Well-designed, well built, durable, functional beauty. Typical German characteristics I guess

Cute and functional!
Really liked this carafe. It kept coffee hot for a good length of time, and it looked cute as can be. I did notice an occasional tendency for the lid to unscrew a bit as the lever was pressed; however, if one is careful to press straight down on the lever it does not happen. Cleaning was not terribly difficult with this carafe- liquids can seep into the plastic housing but it was simple enough to open and wipe out. My carafe was broken when one of my kids knocked it to the floor while it was full, and unfortunately the lid shattered. I really like the look, but have to go with a steel carafe this time around. I'd definitely recommend this carafe for its style and function.

Great Value
This has to be the cutest thermos I've ever seen. It's an egg on legs. The thermos holds quite a bit, not a full pot of coffee, but it will hold several cups. As with any thermos, priming the chamber with the temperature you want is useful and economical. The top is easy enough to screw on and off and the seal works great for keeping the temperature in. It pours without dripping, which is a plus and splatters just a bit, if over extended.I would recommend this cute little number to anyone who wants to have coffee out on the deck without having to run back inside for refills.

Arrived broken. Messy pouring spout design made it unusable.
I was hesitant to buy this based on the number of people saying it arrived broken. I talked myself into it anyway and low and behold, it arrived broken. As soon as I opened the box I knew it would be. They just threw the carafe in a massively oversized box with a little scrap of paper. They didn't even wrap the carafe in the paper, as if that would be enough to protect it in a box that size anyway. So the carafe was bouncing around in this oversized box the whole way, no wonder it broke. Fortunately for me, the glass on mine didn't break (and the glass liner seems to be replaceable if they actually would send you one, which is a potential benefit). The lid, however, shattered into 3 pieces. I was able to glue it back together to keep using it, however. Now on to the product review itself. I like the removable glass liner, as I was looking for a thermal insulated glass-lined carafe. I wish it wasn't made of cheap plastic, but for the price, you really can't expect more. The reason I found it to be unusable is that when you pour the liquid comes out in a wide dispersed spray, not a clean tight flow. So it splashes and makes a mess everywhere. Not a huge mess, but it is enough that every time I would go to use it in the morning I would inevitably have to wipe down the counter and my cup afterward. Just wasn't worth the hassle on top of it looking like garbage because of the glued together lid. I guess I will save my pennies for something more expensive that doesn't have these flaws.

It's so cute!
I first saw the Leifheit insulated carafe at a hotel when I ordered room service, and I loved the design. I also loved that the coffee I ordered at dinner was still hot in the morning, so I decided to buy one. I haven't been disappointed. It's easy to fill, easy to clean, and it's sturdy. I use it every morning, and my coffee stays hot all day.If you use it to keep coffee warm, you'll have to give it a good washing every week or so to get rid of the oily coffee residue. The carafe instructions say to do this with denture-cleaning tablets, but I find that 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water works just as well.I would buy this again in a heartbeat.
