Does great, capacity is good and haven't had any leaking
Works great. I wasn't sure about the type of closure - I'm unfamiliar with it and have heard many reports of leaking, however I haven't had any issues. I did buy a cap for it which isn't the best but I prefer not having it get drug around in the mud. First drink every time (and it was drained and dry before use) always tastes a little funky. Then I don't know if it doesn't taste anymore or if I'm used to it, but I haven't really noticed any other weird tastes after that. Capacity is also perfect.

7 days in Yosemite backpacking - great!!!
It’s my 2nd bag (I couldn’t find the first one which I got about 3-4 years ago and used extensively, so bought another one). Both bags were/are great! No leaking, no ruptures - served great during my Yosemite backpacking trip!Regarding water taste - you may feel a little plasticky taste at the beginning, but the longer you use it, the less it’s present. The former I would say was already without any aftertaste. I also had CamelBak and I think the Osprey has less problem with the taste…Wait for the right price, which should be about $38 or less…Black Friday price was $34.50 and Jul08 2025 so far the lowest price I have seen $26.08 (Prime Day)

I LOVE the Bite Tube!
I'm loving the convenience of having a bite tube while riding my bike. I also use it while I'm on duty outdoors as a tour guide and greeter. I appreciate having a bigger water bladder than I've ever had. I now have plenty of water to conveniently suck down while biking, camping or working!

Great Hydration System
The Osprey Hydration packs are my favorite. The old bladders tend to get damaged easily causing leaks. This new one seems like the quality is better and is a little thicker. The bite valve appears the same, just be careful how hard you bite down on it as it can cause it to leak. The hose can be disconneted for cleaning and to dry it out, an upgrade from older versions. The price point is pretty good and is about average with some other brands. Overall, I'm a big fan of the osprey hydration packs and bladders.

woke up dreaming
REALLY! About 4 days ago I woke up thinking there has to be a better water bladder design. Every time I fill up my Humpback (you know the one) bladder it swells up as big as my leg and takes up half the pack. I thought to myself, what we need is a bladder with an internal panel that makes it keep it's shape. I thought to myself of the $$$millions that I would make and how adoring fans would stand in line just to thank me. Then I looked on Amazon.RATS! Right there before me was this Osprey 2.5L bladder designed just for me. It does not hurt that I also have an Osprey pack. Seriously, this may be the absolute best design that I have seen. The V that you see is two "welded" in panels that keep the bladder from ballooning into a sausage. When fully filled it is about 2" thick and should easily fit any pack designed to carry a bladder. The hose can be easily routed left or right as required by your pack. It also has a quick disconnect inside the bag that allows the bag to be removed with out having to reroute the exterior part of the hose. The magnetic clip to keep the mouth piece in place for easy access is simple genius.I could go on about how easy it is to fill etc etc etc but instead I will say that if I had build my own bladder it is pretty certain that it would look and work a whole lot like this one does. Of course, I will miss my adoring fans but at least I did get a great bladder and did not have to make it myself. Absolutely recommend this.

My new favorite
I had no problem with a funky taste, just rinsed a couple times. The top fill is a bit tight but it is also made for pouring water out, like into your cooking pot. I like the mouthpiece, you can leave it unlocked, use the magnetic holder (which is such a great idea!) the more you bite on mouthpiece the more water you get. I did have the quick release that’s towards the top of bladder come apart but it was as I was taking it out to fill. Yesterday it was squeaking somewhere in that area but I never figured out what it was. Annoying and I hope it doesn’t become a normal thing

This is much better with the halfway point hose being detachable.
Works fine, doesn't leak at all. The detach point (whatever it's called) halfway up the hose is nice, especially for cleaning. Some slight taste, but I expected it as I've used these before.Generic denture cleaning tabs work well for cleaning the reservoir from time to time. I recommend letting it hang dry between uses though. I've found with the hose attached, if I hang it up over my shower curtain bar, hose on one side, bag on the other, I don't need anything extra for it to dry upside down.
