DIYmallDEVIT V1 ESP32-WROOM-32 Development Board ESP32 ESP-32S WiFi+BT BLE Dual-core Dev Module CP2102 forArduino DOIT(Pack of 2PCS)

It's a ESP-WROOM-32 board, these are pretty well known in the Arduino community. Programming them isn't as main stream as regular Arduino boards, but isn't that much of a hassle once the environment is set up. It took a total of maybe 45 minutes including web searching and downloading.As for quality of the board and all, it's as expected. It's about what you'd expect from in a mass produced toy. It isn't aerospace grade or like the inside of an iphone, but it gets the job done.

I use ESPHome and I wanted to expand my sensors in my house. These sensors work great and I was able to get them working with ESPHome and reporting to Home Assistant with little effort.

The parts arrived in good condition and in a timely manner. However, I should have been more careful in selecting them. All the chip carriers I have seen, and the specs for most WROOM boards, show 38-pin parts- these have only 36 pins and do not confirm to most of the carriers I have found. I could do with a 38-pin carrier and be careful with my pinouts, but unfortunately even the spacing of the rows is incompatible with the 38-pin carriers. So, once I do development with some different parts, I’ll just hardwire these.

I spent 3 days trying to get them to work. I didn't even think about examining the pins on this esp 32d wroom. NOT ESP 32-s v1. It comes to find out that the solder joints where cracked on several (5-6). it also had corrosion on the board between the pins. I was able to recover one by resoldering the broken joints and heating up the cold joints. Now the board is horrible looking because the heat messed up the pin numbers. Un-real results. I doubt the thing will work very long. Also, You must push the darn boot and reset with two hands and I cant even use my computer. I spent extra money to make a purchase with DIY Malls and I got lower quality boards. Although I am disappointed, I would hope that the seller contacts me and replaces both. I truly feel they will make it correct. Maybe, they sent me someone's used boards. Please contact me so I can utilize these boards and I will change the rating to 5 stars for being honorable. unreal junk
