Eagle Claw Jig Ball Bronze Hook, 25 Piece

This jig head may be fine for other applications, but not for tube jigs. The bait-saver is so small, you can barely see it. Any cast with any force will cause the tube to slide down the shaft of the jig head all the way down to the hook, making a horrible presentation to the fish. Constantly pushing the tube back up only to have this happen over and over again.

Great product that almost never misses on a strike.It's an Eagle Claw model 570 #1 Aberdeen Jig Hook... Bronze forged with 90deg eye and straight barb, 1 1/8" long, 1" shank length from ball to bottom, 7/16" wide, 3/8" hook depth, 1 barb, razor sharp... it hooks very well like most Eagle Claw productsIt works great with rubber jig tails between 1 1/2" and maybe 2 1/4", fly jig tails up to 3 1/2".... it's a good size for fish between 6" and 18" or so, maybe as big as 24" and up to about 5lbs.The 1/8 weight is good for very light test and casts out to about 30 feet, then a medium slow reel back. I use them with white grey or green rubber fluttertails and it works good for just about anything, small and large mouth bass, various panfish / sunfish and some exotics we have in Fla like Mayan Cichlubs (which fight a lot better than Bass BTW).

I bought these jigs for a remote fishing trip, and purchased several small bottles of finger nail polish at a local retail store. When we figured out which color the fish preferred, I painted up a few of these with that color fingernail polish. Seemed to work well for me.

We always use these to creek fish for bass and occasionally brim or whatever happens to bite our bait, which is usually a tube (aka a squid if you ask me lol.) they work great and I love being able to buy from amazon and pay less than I would at the bait shop.

I've been buying painted jigs, but thought I'd give these a shot. Eagle claw always makes good products so I couldn't resist the 25 pack for the price. Haven't had any problems after a few days of fishing.

Item is as described. We'll see if not being painted or having "Eyes" truly makes a difference to the fish ... or is just an enticement to catch fishermen. If not, I'll be "sold" and could care less if these are "dull looking and blind" !

Solid jig.Used with rubber worm and the bait hold barb at job important to keeping artificial bait in position.

Small and not very durable. Easily bend.Would not buy again.
